ฉันเดินชนคนแปลกหน้า ฉันเอ่ยขอโทษไม่ตั้งใจ
เขากลับตอบ"ขออภัย ผมเองไม่ทันเห็นคุณ" เราต่างสุภาพ ถ้อยทีถ้อยอาศัยแสดงน้ำใจ แม้ไม่รู้จักกัน
แต่ที่บ้านเย็นวันนั้นฉันทำอาหารอยู่ในครัว ลูกสาวตัวน้อยแอบมายืนข้างหลังไม่ทันระวังฉันหันกลับมาชน เธอล้มลง
"อย่ามายืนเกะกะ" ฉันดุใส่ลูกสาวเดินจากไป หัวใจเธอปวดร้าว

คืนนั้นฉันได้ยินเสียงกระซิบจากเบื้องลึกของหัวใจกับคนแปลกหน้าเจ้าสุภาพได้กับลูกรั
กชิดใกล้ ทำไมทำได้ลงคอ
ดูที่พื้นครัวสิ ดอกไม้หลากสีที่ลูกอุตส่าห์เก็บมาหวังให้เจ้าแปลกใจตกเกลื่อนอยู่ทั่วไปน้ำตาเธอใหล เหตุใดไม่แลเห็น"

ลูกตอบ" ใช่ค่ะ หนูเห็นดอกไม้บาน สวยงามเหมือนคุณแม่รู้ว่าคุณแม่ต้องชอบโดยเฉพาะดอกสีน้ำเงิน"
ฉันตื้นตันใจนัก " ลูกรักแม่ขอโทษจริงๆ ที่เอ็ดหนู"
"แม่จ๋า ไม่เป็นไรหรอกค่ะหนูรักแม่ "
"แม่ก็รักลูกแม่ชอบดอกไม้ของหนูมาก โดยเฉพาะสีน้ำเงินจ้ะ"
หากเราตายจากไปในวันพรุ่งนี้ อีกไม่กี่วันนายจ้างก็หาคนใหม่มาทำแทนได้
แต่ครอบครัวที่อยู่ข้างหลังอาจโศกเศร้าไปชั่วชีวิต ลองคิดดูว่าคุ้มไหมหากเราจะทุ่มเทตัวเองให้กับงานมากกว่าครอบครัว
